LGCIU Fault A320

WARNING:         MAKE SURE THAT THE GROUND SAFETY-LOCKS ARE IN POSITION ON THE LANDING GEAR. THIS WILL PREVENT UNWANTED MOVEMENT OF THE LANDING GEAR, AND THUS POSSIBLE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT AND/OR EQUIPMENT.

3. Fault Confirmation

SUBTASK 32-31-00-710-051-A

A. Test

(1) Do the BITE test of the LGCIU identified on the PFR Ref. AMM 32-69-00-740-001.

NOTE:   If LGCIU 1 and LGCIU 2 are shown as defective on the PFR, do the troubleshooting of the two faults independently.

(2) No maintenance steps are necessary, if:

— The TSD shows fault code 1FD or 1FE and the second word is xxxC (PBIT satisfactory)

AND -The cargo loading system operates correctly.

4. Fault Isolation

SUBTASK 32-31-00-810-051-A

A. Procedure

(1) If the BITE test result shows a fault message:

(a) Interchange the LGCIU-1 and LGCIU-2 Ref. AMM 32-31-71-000-001 and Ref. AMM 32-31-71-400-001.

(2) If the fault moves to the other LGCIU position:

(a) Interchange back the LGCIU-1 and LGCIU-2 and replace the defective LGCIU-1 (5GA1) or LGCIU-2 (5GA2) Ref. AMM 32-31-71-000-001 and Ref. AMM 32-31-71-400-001.

(3) If the fault does not move to the other LGCIU position, or TEST OK is shown:

(a) Get access to the SYSTEM REPORT/TEST/L/G page Ref. AMM 31-32-00-860-009.

(b) On the MCDU, at the LGCIU main menu, push the TROUBLE SHOOT DATA line key.

(c) If the fault code(s) is shown, record it.

(d) Do the troubleshooting procedure related to the fault code shown that occurred on the last flight Ref. TSM 32-31-00-03.

1 If the fault code refers to this task, replace the applicable LGCIU Ref. AMM 32-31-71-000-001 and Ref. AMM 32-31-71-400-001.

(4) Make sure that the serviceable LGCIU is installed in its initial position.

5. Close-up

A. Put the aircraft back to its initial configuration.

All instructions and limitations given in those documents that relate to the resetting of systems both on the ground and in the air must be respected. No reset should be attempted without a thorough appreciation of the technical ramifications. No more than one computer should be reset at any one time. No reset should be attempted in flight unless specifically permitted by the QRH. Maintenance messages remaining after a reset require engineering investigation.
